Description

Howard Leight by Honeywell Sync™ Electo® digital electronic FM radio ear muffs with surround sound offer a unique package of features simply not available in any ordinary radio ear muffs. Sync Electo lets you listen to FM radio stations while remaining protected against ambient noise up to 110 dB. In addition, Sync Electo helps you remain fully aware of your surroundings through microphones on the ear cups and the built in amplifier that enhances low level sounds up to 85 dB. With Sync Electo on, you can actually hear surrounding sounds better than you can with the open ear. Sync Electo also protects you against over amplifying loud sounds by limiting the sounds you hear to a maximum of 85 dB.

The built in FM radio lets you enjoy your favorite stations while at work or on the firing line, and if that is not enough, Sync Electo comes complete with a 3.5mm stereo patch cord that lets you listen to music or voice from your smart phone or hand held two way radio, scanner, or other device. By plugging in your smart phone, you can always hear your phone ring, and even carry on a conversation while wearing the Sync Electo. You hear the caller through the headset and speak normally through the phone, so you can actually carry on a conversation while remaining protected in a high noise environment.

These and other great features make Sync Electo an excellent choice for industrial workers, home maintenance and power tool users, sport shooters and hunters, as well as NASCAR and other racing fans. If you need noise protection, and you need to be able to still clearly hear what is going on around you, and you want to be able to hear FM radio programs, and you want to be able to listen to your own music player, and you want to be able to carry on mobile phone conversations in noisy environments without compromising your hearing protection, then you need Sync Electo.

Howard Leight by Honeywell Sync™ Electo® Digital Electronic FM Radio ear Muffs Features and Benefits:

  • SLC80 26dB, Class 5.
  • Built in FM radio (87.5-108 MHz) provides entertainment on the job or in the field. Radio volume is limited to 82 dB, a safe level for continuous all day listening.
  • Built in ambient sound amplifier with volume adjustment lets you hear low sounds better than with the open ear. Low sounds are amplified up to 85 dB while dangerously loud sounds are limited to a maximum of 85 dB, resulting in a compressed soundscape that lets you hear everything clearly and safely for maximum situational awareness.
  • Superb sound quality comparable to ordinary high fidelity headphones in a similar price range, for uncompromised listening pleasure throughout the work day.
  • Separate volume controls for the radio and surround sound. You hear both, and can adjust the separate volumes as needed.
  • Aux audio input lets you use your smart phone or FRS/GMRS two way radio without removing the headset. Listen through the headset and speak into the phone or walkie talkie to transmit. Note: Aux audio volume is not limited.

SLC80 Explained

Under AS/NZS 1270:2002, hearing protection is tested for its Sound Level Conversion (SLC80) rating, which indicates the difference between the environmental noise and the sound reaching the wearer’s ears. This rating helps determine the appropriate Class of hearing protection for specific noise levels.

Australian and New Zealand workplaces are obligated under AS/NZS 1269.3:2005 to:

  • Conduct noise level surveys to assess exposure (measured as LAeq,8h).
  • Provide suitable hearing protection for workers exposed to noise above 85 dB(A).
  • Ensure hearing protection is maintained and properly fitted to achieve effective attenuation.

Employers must select hearing protection suitable for the measured noise levels, ensuring compliance with occupational noise management regulations.
