Which Concerts & Festival Ear Plugs are right for me?

Why use ear plugs for music?

Whether you’re at a gig, rehearsing in a band room, or just cranking up the volume at home, music can reach sound levels that are harmful to your hearing over time. Exposure to anything over 85 dB — common in concerts, studios, and even headphones — can cause permanent hearing damage with repeated exposure.

Music ear plugs are designed to reduce the volume to a safe level without distorting the sound. That means you can still enjoy the detail, dynamics, and emotion of the music — while protecting your ears for the long term.

Music ear plugs explained

Unlike standard ear plugs that block sound unevenly and can make music sound dull or muffled, music ear plugs use acoustic filters to reduce sound evenly across frequencies. This means the music stays clear, balanced, and enjoyable — just at a safer volume.

They’re ideal for musicians, DJs, audio techs, and fans, offering reusable, comfortable protection that doesn’t get in the way of your performance or listening experience. Many designs are also discreet and low-profile, so they’re easy to wear on stage or in the crowd.

Concert and festival ear protection

Live music is one of life’s greatest pleasures—but it shouldn’t come at the cost of your hearing. Whether you’re front row at a festival or deep in the mosh at your favourite band’s gig, the volume levels at concerts can be dangerously high. That’s where concert ear plugs come in.

At Earjobs, we specialise in high fidelity ear plugs that preserve sound quality while protecting your ears. Our range is designed to help you enjoy the full concert experience—without the ringing in your ears the next day. Whether you're a seasoned gig-goer, club regular, or first-time festival attendee, it's worth investing in hearing protection that won’t muffle the music.

If you enjoy going to concerts, festivals, or anywhere else with loud music, it's important to protect your ears. Exposure to loud music can cause a range of potential problems, from tinnitus and headaches through to long-term hearing loss. Earjobs specialises in concert ear plugs for maximum protection with minimal impact on the listening experience.

Tinnitus is a pervasive problem faced by people around the world. While tinnitus is not only experienced by music lovers, exposure to regular loud music can cause tinnitus. Defined as a physical symptom, tinnitus is experienced by an estimated 1 in 3 Australian people.

Most people describe tinnitus as ringing in the ears, although it can also be experienced as whistling, buzzing, hissing, humming, or roaring. Tinnitus is most often experienced in one ear, although it can be experienced in both. While some people have chronic tinnitus that lasts for years, it is often intermittent on a short-term or long-term basis.

Concerts and festivals can be very loud, with even a few minutes of exposure possibly causing tinnitus and other hearing damage. The average concert is between 110 dB and 120 dB, which is much higher than the safe limits advised to avoid hearing problems. Wearing concert ear plugs from Earjobs is the best way to protect your ears and enjoy the music you love at the same time.

If you're attending concerts, festivals, or clubs, it's important to get specialised earplugs for music concerts so you can enjoy the music experience and avoid hearing loss. Not all ear plugs are designed to handle loud music, with some not providing enough protection and others damping so many frequencies that it ruins your listening pleasure. Earjobs sells high fidelity custom moulded festival ear plugs for maximum ear protection with minimum impact on your hearing.
